When Kindness Is Mistaken for Low Worth
Time do CHANGE
Sometimes, the more importance you give someone, the less they seem to value you. When a person knows you care deeply for them, and maybe even knows that you like or love them, they can begin to take your presence for granted. Instead of respecting your feelings, they may treat you as if you are easy to replace, easy to ignore, or equal to things that have no real value.
That kind of treatment can make a person feel small, worthless, and below standard. It hurts even more when all you ever offered was honesty, care, and genuine love. But what they fail to understand is that silence is not weakness, and kindness is not cheap. Sometimes, people allow disrespect only because their heart is sincere, not because their self-respect is gone.
A person with self-respect may stay quiet for a while, may continue caring, and may even let the other person feel important. But that does not last forever. One day, the pain turns into clarity. The value they refused to see will no longer be offered to them. The attention, care, and love they once received so easily will disappear.
And when that day comes, there will be no anger, no begging, and no explanation — only distance. Because the strongest response to being treated like you are nothing is to show that your absence was everything.
I can also make this more emotional, more classy, or more savage depending on the tone you want.
